Discipleship
DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRIES
Men'’s Ministry
:– To develop adult male congregants to Christ-like maturity through a balance between fellowship and discipleship.
Women of Excellence Ministry
: To transform the lives of the women of our congregation through discipleship and the application of biblical truth relevant to their lives according to Titus 2:3-5.
Young Ladies of Excellence
:– To disciple and mentor the young ladies of our congregation and to assist them in growing toward spiritual maturity.
New Disciples’ Ministry – To welcome new congregants to the church and to guide them through the discipleship process and to introduce them to ministry opportunities within the church.
Youth Ministries
YOUTH MINISTRIES
To lay a biblical foundation for a mature Christian lifestyle for the children and youth of our congregation.
Upper Division
:– To develop youth aged 13 to 21yrs. in a spiritual environment that balances discipleship and fellowship in order to produce a generation that is spiritually mature and technically excellent.
Lower Division
:– To develop youth aged 5 – 13yrs. in a spiritual environment that balances discipleship and fellowship in order to produce a generation that is spiritually mature and technically excellent.
Youth Basketball Ministry
:– To provide church and community youth aged 12 to 17 the opportunity to play in a Christian Basketball League.
Family Ministries
FAMILY MINISTRIES
To promote the spiritual health and well being of the Christian Family.
Marriage Enrichment Ministry
–: To promote healthy, biblical, God-glorifying marriages throughout the church and to foster an atmosphere that encourages and celebrates marriage and marriage fellowship among other married couples.
Single’s Ministry/Single Parent’s Ministry
: – To provide spiritual support, guidance, fellowship and discipleship for our congregants who are single and/or single parents.
Congregational Care
CONGREGATIONAL CARE
To minister to the real life needs of our congregants who are dealing with issues of transition in their lives.
Seasoned Saints Ministry
:– To provide fellowship opportunities, programming and pertinent information for the senior members of our congregation.
Comfort Ministry
:– To provide encouragement and comfort to those who are bereaved.
Hope Ministry (Social Services)
:– To make social service resources available to our congregants.
Health Ministry
:– To raise the level of awareness of health and fitness related issues among our members ( Congregational Nurse /Health Council)
Focus Ministry
: To provide a support/fellowship group for those experiencing the trauma of life-threatening illnesses.
Outreach Ministries
OUTREACH MINISTRIES To share the love of Christ primarily in the immediate community of the church building and then beyond.Missionaries:– To be compassionate, evangelistic witnesses for the Lord through visiting and assisting sick and shut-in members of the church and immediate community. Whosoever Gospel Mission:– To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ at Whosoever Gospel Mission.Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission:– To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ at The Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission.Prison Ministry:– To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with both adults and juveniles within the local, state and federal correctional institutions with in the City and County of Philadelphia.New Choices Ministry:– To provide encouragement and fellowship to those struggling with addictions.Gifts of God Ministry:– To share the love of Jesus Christ by taking meals, clothing, bibles and tracks to those who are hungry and homeless.Outreach Kitchen:– To provide a free hot meal to those in our community who are less fortunate.Clothing Give-Away:– To provide free clothing to those in our community who are less fortunate.School Supplies Give-Away:– To provide free school supplies to church and community students who are in need, at the beginning of each school year.Neighborhood Outreach:– To spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and share the love of Jesus Christ with the immediate community surrounding the Bible Way Baptist Church in any way possible.
Christian Education
CHRISTIAN EDUCATIONTo encourage the spiritual growth of our congregants through events and venues specifically designed to teach the Word of God.Hour of Empowerment:– To provide biblical instruction for congregants of all ages on Sunday Morning.E.T.A. Biblical Institute:– To provide a deeper level of biblical instruction for our congregants in specified areas through the Evangelical Teacher Training AssociationSummer Camp:– To provide a full service summer day camp with a biblical emphasis for church and community children aged 6-14yrs. from June through August each year.College & Career Ministry:– To maintain a connection to the church for our congregants in college and to assist those who are college bound with pertinent information regarding post high school education and career opportunities.
Service Ministries
SERVICE MINISTRIES To welcome and serve our congregants during church related events.Gatekeepers Ministry:– To assist congregants in seating and any other needs that may arise during church related events.Junior Ushers Ministry: To provide the youth of Bible Way with the opportunity to assist our congregants in seating and any other needs that may arise during church related events.Nursery Ministry:– To provide a safe environment for small children during church related events.Hospitality Ministry:– To greet worshippers entering through the front doors and to publicly welcome congregants during church related events.Culinary Ministry: To manage the church kitchen and provide food for church related events.Transportation Ministry:– To provide transportation for senior members in need to church on Sunday morning and to provide transportation for other church related events as needed. Security Ministry:– To provide a secure environment for our congregants during church related events.
